A couple of months ago, we all thought we were about to be treated to a new season of The Bachelor.
A little bit of bad news and a little bit good news, that was then.
In the meantime, we have been treated to plenty of news of the sort that would have made any good season of the show all the more interesting.
This month, we get a lot of good news.
The NHL is releasing its 2018-19 season schedule, and for the first time in more than a decade, the league is actually going to start its season before Christmas.
The schedule includes four straight games between the Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks, the first meeting between the two teams since 2007.
The Canucks will play the Blackhawks in front of about 6,300 fans at the KeyArena on Jan. 7, followed by the Blackhawks on Jan, 14.
The Blackhawks are still a few weeks away from the end of their season, but they will be in their first game of the 2018-2019 season on Saturday, Feb. 4 against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center.
It’s a rematch of last season’s meeting between these two teams, which saw the Blackhawks win 2-1.
It will mark the fifth meeting between them and their home opener will be Feb. 18, 2019, in front the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
This is a good thing, as the Blackhawks will be looking to get back to the playoffs for the third straight year.
The teams last meeting in April, a 5-1 win for the Blackhawks, ended in a shootout and Chicago lost 3-2.
But this time, the Blackhawks have a much improved roster that will allow them to play a much more aggressive game and will hopefully provide a bit of hope for fans in the area.
The team is also expected to have a better chance of beating the Blackhawks.
This team has won five straight regular season games and are only five points behind the Anaheim Ducks for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.
The Ducks are also a few points behind in the Central Division, but still have a good chance of sneaking into the postseason, especially if they can keep up with their team in goal, Jonas Hiller, the starter, is expected to be back for a third straight season.
The Coyotes are one game behind for the final wild card slot in the West, but it is going to be tough to make the playoffs and get to the postseason with a young roster.
There is still a chance for the Coyotes to make it into the playoffs if they manage to beat the Canucks in their final game, but the Ducks are going to need to get a few more points to be in the postseason.
The Panthers are just two points behind for third place in the Atlantic Division, which would give them an advantage over the Sabres and Lightning in the conference.
The Bruins are also in a similar situation, but their playoff hopes are on shaky ground.
The season finale is on March 4 against Tampa Bay, which has a very tough schedule.
The Hurricanes have a lot on their plate, including a home game against the Predators on Thursday night, before they host the Islanders in their next game.
But if they play the Bruins, the Sabres will be playing their home games at Joe Louis Arena.
That is an excellent opportunity for the Panthers to have some quality home games and to start the year off strong.
The Canadiens will also be looking for a playoff berth this season, so the team will be very active in the off-season.
The Kings are coming off a disappointing season, and have some rebuilding to do, but there is still hope for this team.
They have a strong goaltending corps with Jonathan Quick, Ryan Miller and Jaroslav Halak, and goaltender Michael Hutchinson is expected back soon.
The only problem is, this team is only a few months removed from an incredible run that won them the Stanley Cup.
